Maybelline Lots of Lashes Mascara!

Heyyyy lovelies.

Man, I can't say it enough how happy I am that my blog feed is fixed and now people actually know I'm updating again. Horray!

Anywho, for those of you who don't know, I'm a BzzAgent, meaning I get some products to try for free and in return I'm supposed to share my experiences with my friends!

This time I got to try the Maybelline Lots of Lashes Mascara in very black:

The Great Lash Mascara that Maybelline makes has been around forever!  This, however, is a new and improved version called Lots of Lashes featuring a new applicator brush they call the little grabber.  This brush is supposed to help you reach the inner and outer corners of your eye lashes much easier.   Here are some pics of the applicator:

Up close and personal
I really really liked the applicator brush.  What they advertise is true: it was super easy to reach all of my lashes.  And it was also quite simple to build up your coats.  It says for a fuller look to apply another coat without letting the first one dry.  I'm all about that because I'm impatient...and I like giant eyelashes.

Here are some pics of me wearing this mascara:

Yes the eyeliner I'm wearing is different on each eye...I'll update about that later
Overall I reallllly liked this mascara.  I'm very very picky about my mascaras...and I usually wear waterproof because it curls better...but I've found myself wearing this a lot lately!
It applies relatively thin for mascara, which I like since it leads to clump free lashes!  It also removes easily with normal soap and water or make-up remover (or tears lol).

So overall, this mascara gets a thumbs up for me!  I got sent FIVE of these and have been passing them out to my friends! And good news for you ladiessss...you can win one in my giveaway!

If you can't wait for that, though, and you want to try it ASAP, it retails for $6.40 at most mass retailers ;)  If you want more info, check out their facebook page!

Saturday Update!

Horray I've been on here for a week!

This post is going to be a little different because I'm going to be really, really busy the rest of this weekend but I didn't want to leave you hanging.  SO what I'm going to do is talk about my favorite nail product and then go into some more details on BzzAgent!

Okay, first I'm going to talk about Burt's Bees Lemon Butter Cuticle Cream!
Currently this is the only product I use for my cuticles, and I love it.  It comes in a cute little tin you can throw in your purse and has a wonderful lemon scent.  It looks waxy but when you start using it it's actually pretty creamy and moisturizes your cuticles very well.  I like to put it on before bed and usually once or twice throughout the day.  I also use lotion a lot to keep the rest of my hands moisturized, so I think the combination of the two lead to happy, healthy cuticles!

In case you are wondering, I don't usually cut my cuticles.  If I lax on my care and one gets super out of hand I'll occasionally trim it a little shorter with one of these:
But in general these tools freak me out a little because it's easy to slip and cut your finger all up.  So I don't use it too often and if I do it's only a little bit and then I just moisturize and push them back with a rosewood stick.

So do you guys use Burt's Bees or do you have another cuticle cream that kicks butt?  Let me know so I can try it!

ANnnnnnyway I just wanted to mention BzzAgent briefly again.  I don't have to since I share enough about them, but I was really excited about the Campaign I got recently.  I also made a BzzAgent page if you guys want to find out more about it!  It's a little bit of an intro and how to.  But yeah, BzzAgent is the site I use to try products from!  I just wanted to tell you guys that I got put in to an SC Johnson Campaign and they sent me a crap ton of stuff, similar to what's seen here.  I got scrubbing bubbles shower foam, a toilet bowl stamper cleaner thing (which smells pretty good), pledge, a new glade spring scented candle and a glade plug in.

OM NOM NOM candles!!
I don't know about all of you, but I'm one of those people pretty much addicted to the plug-in Wallflowers from Bath & Body Works...and let me tell you, Glade plug-ins are. Awesome.  They sent me a fresh spring (or spring rain, I can't remember) scented one and the smell literally fills my entire apartment.  I had to move it three times before I found a suitable place for it, haha.  I'm always looking for something I can smell throughout the house (to get rid of that dog smell) and this definitely works.  I don't know if they changed their formula or what 'cause I don't remember them being this strong, but they're definitely my new obsession and I just wanted to share the goodness that are glade plug-ins.

That's all for today, folks--have a super great weekend!

L'Oreal Double Extend Eye Illuminator Mascara Review

Hey guys, this is my second post and just FYI I did both of these L'Oreal reviews for BzzAgent, where I get to try new products for free! You should seriously check it out if you haven't heard of it, I love it!
Like I said previously, a few weeks ago I signed up for a BzzAgent Campaign to receive a free sample of L'Oreal's Double Extend Illuminator Mascara and their new One Sweep Eye Shadow.
The Double Extend Illuminator Mascara I received was Black Crystal for all eye colors.  I usually wear dark brown or black mascara despite my lighter colored hair, so this fit my style perfectly.  The image shown is not the color I received, but I wanted to show how the brush looks.
Black Copper for Blue Eyes (From L'Oreal website)
The skinny side is the mascara side.  I love how long the applicator is--it allowed the mascara to go on easy and clump-free.  It also was a lot less thick than the mascara I usually wear but highlighted my lashes all the same.  They say it is supposed to add volume and length to your lashes, but I really only noticed the length aspect of that.  I was always confused by "volumizing" mascara.

Anyway, the spherical side is the illuminator side.  This side is supposed to have light-reflecting pearly highlights that accentuate your eye color although I found this hard to see.  I feel like since the illuminator was such a dark grey sparkle that I didn't notice it too much except for on my bottom lashes.  I would love to be able to try the Black Copper for blue eyes version, I feel like the illumination would be more noticeable.

Mascara with "Illuminator" added--you can barely see it

This product retails for about $8-$11 depending on where you shop and is available at most retail stores carrying L'Oreal products.

Overall I give this product a 4.5 out of 5 for the varying color selections, clump-free application and some illuminating sparkle!

If you're looking for a new mascara I'd definitely spend the money and try it, I love that they have it specifically for different eye colors--so cool!  If you've tried it and have something to say about it, comment please!

L'Oreal One Sweep Eye Shadow Review!

Hey everyone!  This is my first post and it's for L'Oreal's new One Sweep Eye Shadow.  If you have any comments and suggestions on how to blog or what I should talk about, please contact me and let me know!

L'Oreal is known for their excellent quality make-up products.  I was excited to see that I qualified to try some of their products for free so a few weeks ago I signed up for a BzzAgent Campaign to receive a sample of L'Oreal's Double Extend Illuminator Mascara and their new One Sweep Eye Shadow.

Pretty colors! (From L'Oreal website)

The One Sweep Eye Shadow I received was number 409, natural for blue eyes.  I've applied it a few times this week and was actually quite disappointed with the results.  The colors go well together, as you can see from the image, however the application technique did not work as planned.  The directions tell you to sweep each side of the applicator brush through all three colors and apply following the curve of your eye.  However, the pink is barely noticeable so all you get is a line of brown and a line of white, which looks awkward.

I've applied the colors separately with a smaller blending brush and the results were much more pleasing.  So overall, I loved the colors and the concept, but the "one sweep" application just did not work as designed.

The product appears to retail for about $7-$9 in most stores that carry L'Oreal products, which seems a little high to me now that I know the one sweep idea doesn't work like it's supposed to.  However, after looking at the other color combination's they sell, I would be willing to try some of the others, since the colors go so well together.

I'd give this product a 3 out of 5 for the interesting concept and gorgeous colors.

If you've tried this and have something to say about it, comment please!  Also, I plan on taking my own pictures in the future, so look out for that!
