Hello girls :) It's been a while!
I've been super busy with wedding planning and traveling back home that I have neglected my blog! Well hopefully since I'm on a roll with the planning and I've finished up frankening, I'll have more time for it again :D
Today I've got a semi-nail fail to show you! I fell in love last December when Scrangie blogged about the Holiday Dressing Table collection from Butter London. I. Had. To. Have. It.
I didn't get around to purchasing until earlier this summer and The Black Knight is just NOT a summer color so I stashed it away. (I did use Tart with a Heart over some other polishes, though...LOVE).
Anywho, I decided since it's now fall to bust out this combo! Here are the shots (Sorry I don't have any shots of either polish alone...this is just the combo!):
I do not know what happened between last year and this year, because I loved The Black Knight + Tart with a Heart when I first saw swatches....but after application? Blech. I took it off right away!
I haven't given up all hope. I've convinced myself that the combination of the purple undertones of The Black Knight plus the green undertones of Tart with a Heart plus my skintone and longer nails just resulted in me kind of hating it.
Now don't get me wrong, they both applied great! I used two coats of The Black Knight and one coat of Tart with a Heart topped with Seche Vite--they went on smooth just like all BL polishes! I think with how long my nails are and how pale my skin is, I just felt like it looked witchy! If I was going for that Halloween look I would've kept it on :) But sadly, I'm not.
I think I'll save The Black Knight for shorter nails...or maybe mid-winter, when it'd work better!
Did you girls pick this combo up when it came out last year? What'd you think?

Happy June! Featuring Butter London Disco Biscuit
SO after my first Butter London polish being on the thin side, I was kind of turned off to the brand. However, I've had Black Knight and Tart With a Heart on my wish list ever since I saw swatches!
I hate hate hate paying Butter London prices, though! So they had a 3 for $30 sale, which is still excessive, but I thought this was my best chance to get them! Along with those two, I also got Disco Biscuit, my new favorite pink jelly!
Check out pretty pictures of her:
These pictures are after like 2 days of tip wear, just FYI :)
But anywho--the formula on this polish was FABULOUS. I was surprised since the last one I tried was so thin, but nope...not this one, it was perfect. I barely had to do any cleanup because the formula and brush were so awesome. Disco Biscuit is a bright pink/fuchsia jelly with purple shimmers in it. Since it's a jelly I put on 3 coats for opaqueness, but in certain lighting you can still see my nail line underneath. I didn't care though, because it was so fabulous.
I later coated it with one coat of my Sexual Helium, but I don't have any pictures to show you, hahaha, just know it looked good :)
Do you guys have Disco Biscuit? What's your fave Butter London?

Pink Wednesday! My first Butter London!
Sooo it's Pink Wednesday again! Horray!
I've been really busy and also kind of sick the past few days, which is why I've been MIA, but I'm back for pink! It was sunny on Monday, so I took some outdoor pics of my ruffian (ORLY Shine + China Glaze 108 Degrees), this is 3 days of wear, but I think it still looks pretty good!! After these pics is my Butter London review:
I was sad to take it off. But that's okay! On to something new.
Today I decided to try the Butter London polish I bought the other day: Teddy Girl. I did not like it. The color is okay I suppose, since these pastels almost whites are in style right now (did you see the new Cosmo? They have an article about it!), but the formula was pretty awful. I'm glad I used a coupon and did not pay the full $15 for this polish.
I don't know if it was just the color that made the formula so bad for me, or if all Butter London's are like that. It was very watery and runny and I had a hard time covering the nail equally. I basically had to slop it on and spend forever doing clean-up. Not to mention I was super shaky today for some reason. My right hand is hideously bad, the left I spent much more time on, so hopefully it looks okay enough for the blog.
I guess it doesn't look too terrible in pics, but I had the worst time with this color...it kept running into the sides of my nail and I couldn't get it out. This is three coats.
I might put some glitter on top of it to spruce it up tomorrow.
How have you guys done with Butter London? I was severely disappointed, I hope it works out better for you!!
