More polka dots!

Sooo after my first polka dot adventure went over so well, I thought I'd try it again!

This time I used teal and yellow, my favorite color combo!

This time I used China Glaze Happy Go Lucky for my yellow, For Audrey for my teal, and Sinful Colors White!  Along with my dotting tool, of course.

I've seen a lot more polka dots on nails recently, I think they're perfect for summer!

I'll be MIA for a bit after this, too!  Sorry ladiess!  I've got a business trip coming up and potentially a weekend getaway ;)  SO bear with me, I'll be back!

Featuringggg HITS Hera!

Hey girls!

I've got another polish to show you that I swatched a while ago!  It's called Hera and it's from the HITS no Olimpo collection1  I bought HITS Hera and Zeus from Ninja Polish a while back and wore this beauty on the first sunny day! 

Hera is a beautiful holographic teal polish that applies perfectly in 2 coats!  I've had China Glaze DV8 on my wishlist for some time since I love teals, so when I was able to buy this I was ecstatic!  I've looked at comparison swatches for a while now and I think this one is way better!  I can't wait to try Zeus!

Featuring: Naïade by Karine

I have a pretty indie polish to show you today called Naïade by Karine!  I got this pretty right before she decided to stop taking orders, but I wanted to show you anyway!  Hopefully in the future she decides to accept orders again because I really like her polishes.

Here are some pics!  I initially forgot to take pictures the first day I wore this, so it's after a day or two of tip wear...my bad!

Naïade is a pretty aqua/teal jelly filled with iridescent flakies and green/gold/blue glitters!  It went on very easily, but needed 3 coats to be opaque.  However, it wasn't thick after three coats like some polishes are!  The flakies were gorgeous and in the sun it looks fabulous!  (Check out her pics to see it!).  She should really make more polishes, because she's talented and her names are cute and creative.  Naïade is named appropriately for the water nymphs in Greek mythology!

Another Indie! Featuring: Glitter Daze's April Rain

Boy do I have a beauty for you ladies today! 

Have you heard of Glitter Daze? Sana has made some super pretty glitter-filled polishes!  She's actually got a blog where she features them as well--beautiful! 

The one I have to show you today is from Sana's Simply Spring Collection--a beautiful collection of glitter spring-colored polishes, all with cocktail themed names! Such a cute idea!

Honestly when I saw the bottle, I loved the color but had now idea how awesome it was until I swatched it!  April Rain is GORGEOUS! 

April Rain is a beautiful light blue/teal polish loaded with silver, sea foam green, and blue glitters!  I think this is a fabulous spring AND summer polish and I'm super psyched to have it in my collection.  It goes on opaque in 2 coats, but I used 3 for these pictures, but would be beautiful with 1 coat layered over another color.  As a matter of fact you can see Sana's blog post here that shows it layered.  Lovely!

L'Oreal Paris Blue Marine

Soo a week or so ago, while the BF was still in Ohio and I had to come back here for work (boo), I was feelin' lonely and lazy and decided to go get myself a pizza from Kroger.

So here I am...looking like a total cliche "single-girl-from-a-romantic-comedy-movie" carrying around (carrying...I did not get a cart) a take-and-bake Donato's Pizza, a 2-Liter bottle of Hawaiian Punch, and a box of cookies...when suddenly I decide to take a stroll through the beauty products.  I added some Maybelline liquid eyeliner (which I'll have to review later because it was so bad) to my lonely-pile, and then something turquoise and shiny caught my eye!  Oooh!  And on clearance too :)  

That's how I stumbled upon L'Oreal Paris Blue Marine.

Check out the pictures, I bet you wouldn't be able to pass up this clearance polish, either!

Nowww these pictures are a little more green than I think the polish actually is.  In reality, it's a teal-blue metallic that flashes little bits of blue, green, and silver shimmer.  It's a want-to-be duochrome and appears anywhere from teal to dark blue, depending on the lighting, but I wouldn't call it a full duo-chrome. 

It went on nicely--I actually don't have any other L'Oreal Paris polishes to compare this one to.  And I believe that these pictures are of 3 coats of polish.  I liked it, but it was kind of a disappointment to how it appears in the bottle.  And I mean, I guess it looks the same...I don't know what I was expecting.  It just looks so pretty in the bottle and it ended up a little less pretty on my nails, hah!

Have you guys tried this polish?  I'd love to hear what you thought about it!

Funky Fingers Teal Scales!

Okay. So.  I was bored with crackle polishes for a while, but I have a new love!

And it is called Teal Scales!  I'm bummed because I bought this the day after Thanksgiving and went back to look for another bottle last week and they had no more!  I haven't been to the other Five Below, yet, so I guess I'll have to check that out sometime soon!

I first added two coats of OPI Designer de Better and then one coat of Teal Scales, beautiful!  I wish my pictures showed the full effects of this awesome polish.  The BF said it looked like dragon skin, hah.

Wee it's a beautiful combination of a shimmer metallic teal that transitions from blue to green in certain lighting.  I love it!  I need to think of some better polish combinations to show off it's beauty better--anyone have any good ideas?!

Barielle Karma Collection! Triple Post!

Good morning lovelies!  I hope you all had a GREAT labor day weekend!  It was a 4 day weekend for me, which was definitely needed!

Right when I was moving I got sent three Barielle polishes to review from their Karma Collection released earlier this year!  I did the first two not long after I received them, but I got too busy to do the third until recently and I wanted to post about them all at once!

They're all beautiful polishes, but I chose to try: Soul-er Powered, Do Unto Others, and Gotta Have Fate!


First up: Soul-er Powered:

Soul-er Powered is a beautiful shimmery yellow that has just enough frost to make it shine, but not enough to make the formula streaky.  It went on smooth and opaque in three coats and lasted a few days without chipping!  I love yellow--I don't care if it's mid-winter and I'm pale as can be, I still love wearing the color, so there's nothing I don't like about this polish! 


Next up: Do Unto Others:

Do Unto Others is a pretty robins-egg blue/teal that went on shiny and opaque in 3 coats, but I think I could've got away with just 2.  This is a very "spring" color that I liked a lot!  This was the color that I kept putting off doing because I didn't think I could pass off this bright of a color at work, but I actually got compliments on it, so I was very pleased :)


Next up: Gotta Have Fate:

I think this one was my favorite of the three that I tried, but only because I can't resist pinks/peaches ever, hah!  This was the color I was talking about a few posts back that is very similar to CND's Tropic Coral, but I haven't swatched them side by side.  I did like this formula much better than CND--it went on super smooth and shiny in 3 coats, but like Do Unto Others, I think I could get away with just 2, which is great in my book!  I love this color because you can wear it any time of the year with nearly anything.


Overall, I loved all the colors and I'm very surprised I didn't hear more about this collection earlier this summer when it came out!


These were my first Barielle polishes and I can definitely say I'd purchase them in the future!  I might have to get them from their website because I don't have an Ulta around here...anyone else know where to get them?

Another BRIGHT Orange! Papaya Punch! + Another Attempt at Turquoise Crackle

Hey ladies!  I got a lovely sampler package sent to me by China Glaze this weekend consisting of Papaya Punch, Fault Line (Crackle), and Rosita:

Sorry for the stock photos, it's dark here now and I'm too lazy to photograph them haha.  Anywho, since I already have Papaya Punch and Fault Line, I will be adding those to prizes for future giveaways!  Horray!

However, I realized when I received it that I still haven't reviewed Papaya Punch and since I'm super into oranges right now, I figured I'd try it out. 

Papaya Punch is a lovely bright orange cream polish from China Glaze's Island Escape Collection released earlier this year! Check out the (many, whoops) pics below:

I love this shade.  Seriously, I didn't know how great it was until I put it on.  I'm glad I waited until I was a bit more tan.  I loved Essie Braziliant, but I moved that to my feet and have been wearing this as a mani for a few days now!  The formula is great and I love one and two coater polishes.  All the pictures above are shown with two coats.

I tried to again use the OPI turquoise shatter with this orange because I'm now obsessed with teal and orange together.  It didn't work out as well as I'd hoped, probably because I put Posche top coat on the Papaya Punch.  So I tried to just paint another coat of Papaya Punch over it today and then did the shatter, still didn't turn out as I'd hoped:

Eh overall I still like the color combo, but I'm still not super happy with the turquoise shatter.  I wish it broke up as well as the black has for me!

Did you guys pick up Papaya Punch earlier when the IE was released?  Any of you have better luck with turquoise shatter? Let me know!

Braziliant + Turquoise Crackle

Hey allll!  I did a guest post on Opal Steven's Blog today on crackle polishes, please go check it out!! 

Also, I just wanted to show you real quick my semi-crackle fail with OPI's Turquoise Shatter over Essie Braziliant:

Eh.  I think it was a good idea because I love the colors together, but I must've used too thick of a coat of turquoise shatter because I wasn't really satisfied with how much it crackled.  I wanted to see more orange!!  Overall I really liked the turquoise color, though, and I'll definitely be using it again!  I'll probably take this off tonight and re-do something else :)

Also, I briefly mentioned that yesterday I broke part of my pointer finger nail on my left hand and used the krazy-glue method of keeping it on.  It actually worked really well and I smoothed it out and everything but after showering and working with my hands a bit this morning it kind of went to hell and I broke the rest of it off :-/  I'm really bummed.  I don't want to trim all my nails down!  We'll see how it looks when I file it off later.  Ugh!


Well ladies, have a wonderful Saturday night...I'm going to spend it happily on the couch with The Boyfriend since this is the first Saturday night he's had off in months!  Horray!
