Recent Hauls!

I'm going to show you my recent hauls from my trip home!
From my first trip home, the weekend of Oct 21-23rd, I hit up my favorite beauty supply store in Columbus!

Jackpot!  Essie Super Bossa Nova, some Muppets, ORLY Collection, and a holo top coat!

I nabbed all the Muppets I could find: Excuse Moi, a 2 pack with Animalistic and Gettin' Miss Piggy With It and some glittery toe separators, Rainbow Connection, another 2 pack with Pepe's Purple Passion and Divine Swine, and Fresh Frog of Bel Air!

I also picked up ORLY's Holiday Soiree collection (which you saw yesterday!), and a Silver Holo top coat!  I got a GREAT deal on all the ORLY's...$3.75 each!

When I went back again this past weekend (Halloween weekend), I picked up some Bare Minerals Makeup:

A bunch of eyeshadows!  The four on the left are named after cute cocktails (Kir Royale, Strawberry Daquiri, Long Island Iced Tea, and Mojito) and came with a brush (not shown). The three on the left are all shades of brown.

I also picked up an eyeliner set (Retro liner plus brush) and a 7 Piece Girlfriend Collection that came with a mineral veil, blush, two eyeshadows (k.i.t. and b.f.f.) and an eyeliner and double-ended brush!

And here is MY BEST of the past two weeks:

OPI DS Signature, and OPI Ink (Suede version)  I found both of these at a GIANT EAGLE for $8 each!!!  Wish there had been more of the DS collection, I would've bought more.  BEAUTIFUL!

And finally I came home to nail mail!  From a giveaway I won from Carly at Lacquered Lover!

Yay Halloween polishes!!

Woooooo!  What a great past two weeks.  I've really not been buying polish for a while, so this was awesome for me!  I've got a lot of swatching to do :)

Have any of you picked up any of the ORLY Holiday Soiree Collection??

Orange-ya Glad it's the Weekend?! Braziliant!

Okay my title is corny, I know.  Oh well :)  But YAY 150 followers!!

I've been desperately searching (and waiting) for Essie Braziliant ever since I heard about it at the end of April.  The whole Summer 2011 collection looks fabulous, actually, and I'm not usually into oranges but when I saw this swatched I HAD to have it.

I finally found it at Target today and while I resisted buying anything at both Ulta AND Sally's, when I caught a glimpse in the store, my lack of self control took over and I bought it.  Wee! Then I came home and immediately took off my leopard mani and put on this orange.  Check it out!

A bit shiny from the Butter London remover...weird!

Ugh..I broke this nail today, apparently I didn't file it well.  I had to super glue the left side together haha woops

Love love love!  Braziliant is an obnoxiously loud orange and in the bottle you can see just a glimpse of pink shimmery undertones.  It doesn't translate as well to the nail, though, which is fine by me 'cause I was lookin for strictly orange here!  It's pretty opaque, but I still used three coats.  I used two coats of ORLY Ridge Filler first and I don't think I let it dry long enough which made me have some issues when applying this.  I don't know if there's some trick to it or something. Maybe I should've only used one coat of Ridge Filler.  Regardless, it turned out okay after cleaning up a bit!  I loved this color enough I even wrapped my tips 'cause I'm probably going to wear it a few days while I lay out at the pool!

Anywho, here's a quick photo of what I've picked up over the past several days:

Essie Braziliant, OPI Turquoise Shatter, Two Wet n Wild Craze Colors, and Wet n Wilds Mermaids Cove Collection Polishes in Waves of Enchantment and Diving for Pearls....and some remover!

I picked up the Wet n Wilds at CVS on clearance and buy 1 get one 50% off so it was only a few bucks for all those!

I think that's all for tonight, then!

P.S. Have any of you watched My Big Fat Gypsy Wedding on TLC?  It's fascinating, hahaha!  I've never seen dresses this gigantic in my entire life.

Ohhh What Have I Done? ...Haul and For Audrey Review + 1st Nail Art Attempt

So I did something terrible.  I broke my no buy.  HARD.  BUT I found out that I still get paid for another whole month, so that's sweet.

I'm hesitant to even post this because my mom reads my blog and I'm afraid she's going to punch me in the face for buying so much nail polish, hah!  BUT here we go anyway...

Disgusting amounts of nail polish.
I found this Korean-owned nail supply store in the ghetto of Columbus where everything was about half off the normal store price.  Seriously like China Glaze for $3, OPI DS polishes for $6.25, OPI's for $4.25, and ORLY for $3.75!!  I almost died inside the store.  Their credit card machine was down so I had to go get out cash and I was completely fine with it.  Let me start from the left back row:

White and Turquoise CG crackles,
CG Flip Flop Fantasy,
CG Fairy Dust (Nail Mail),
CG White on White,
CG Anklets of Amethysts,
CG Papaya Punch,
CG Ruby Pumps.
TWO CG Wireless Holographic Top Coats (One will go in the giveaway if I reach 200 by 6/25)
Poshe topcoat,
OPI lil Shooters
Three OPI DS Polishes ( Tapestry, Sapphire, and Opulence)
OPI Not Like the Movies
ORLY Ridge Filler
ORLY Galaxy Girl

Front Row:
Ice in Pinky Moon (Never heard of this)
I got two burst crackles (Violet Flame and Shimmering Head),
New York Summer Glitter in Fuschia
Slick in Fuchsia Flash (Never heard of this either)
Color Club De-Luxe-Cious

Oh. My. God.  Let's pretend I'm not crazy and I am seriously on a severe no buy for just about everything besides gas for my car from now until I get a real job.

ANYWAY despite my buyers remorse I'm pretty excited that I finally got For Audrey the other day.  It's CG's color that's super close to Tiffany blue...I'm sure you know all about it.  I was like the last person to get it.  Check it out:

In these pics it looks very robins eggs blue but in real life it's got some green to it.  Looks just like Tiffanys!  Anyway, it looked too boring by itself so I decided to try the new dotting tools I got in the mail the other day and painted little flowers on.  Now, this is my absolute first time at doing any kind of art on my nails...definitely not perfect and I refuse to practice on paper beforehand, so don't judge too hard.  I think it looks cute from far away haha.

I put this indoor photo up here because this color represents better how For Audrey actually looks...it's greenish!

For Audrey went on super opaque in one coat, but this is two!  I used SV top coat, which you can see because it looks crusty in my nail beds.  Does anyone know how to make it NOT do that?  I even cleaned it up twice and everytime I shower it ends up looking like that.  That's why I bought Poshe today to try.  Oh! The flowers are just made with Color Club Art Club White and the centers are Sinful Colors Let's Meet. I also polka doted with Color Club Art Club Turquoise.

Cute!

Okay now I need to go...try not to judge me :)

Nail Mail + ORLY Out Of This World! Lots of Pics!

So I laid out in the sun this morning before my 1:30 class and on the way back to the apartment, I checked my mailbox and was surprised to find THREE nail mail packages!  Yahoo!  Here's what I got:

!!!
Savvy Chocolate, Zoya Envy, Sephora by OPI I'm With Brad, Orly Out of this World

LA Girl Head Bangin, 10 Chocolate Kiss, and Sinful Colors Nail Art in Sunset

Three glittery frankens by DragonRhia!

Nail art stickers, glitter, and dotting tools!!
CG For Audrey, CG Holo Kaleidoscope Him Out, CG Holo Don't Be a Square
Three Julep polishes: Amy, Natalie, and Gloria
Woo that was a ton!  The first couple pictures of polishes and the nail art/tools came from DragonRhia's blog sale.  I paid $10 and got all of that good stuff!  I ordered CG For Audrey off eBay and the two holos from Medusa's Threads before I realized I'm about to be broke...and I won the Julep polishes from The PolishAholic!  I'm waiting on two more packages...one from a swap and the other is a silver shatter I won from another contest (I should probably play the lottery)...and then I think that's about it for me buying or receiving polishes for a while!  Le sigh!  There's so many more I want right now...

Anyhow, the other day I decided to try ORLY Out of This World (I actually bought one before I received it in my package today!)  Check out the pics:

The first two pictures I took at night, right after I painted my them with OOTW.  They are shown with a flash...and this is how I thought the polish would look ALL the time.

Pretty shiny purple!
Alas, do not be fooled

Although these pictures look fabulous, and Out of This World looks totally awesome and all duochrome-y in the bottle, it sadly doesn't actually look like this in person, even outside.  The next three pictures show OOTW the next morning, outside in the sunlight.  No gold flash like you see in the bottle.  Disappointing.  ALSO notice the tip wear.  This was seriously 12 hours later.  I literally painted my nails at 10 pm, went to bed, got up, took a shower, and then took these pics.  WTF Seche Vite?!  I think this polish may have dried too quick for SV to work well.

Boo tip wear

Still pretty, but no duochrome

Overall I really loved how Out of this World went on...the formula is fabulous and I really like ORLY brushes.  I needed to do very little cleanup since it went on so smooth...look at those smooth curved lines!  Bam!  However, the color was not what I was expecting.  The Ulta I found this at only had this color and It's not Rocket Science from their Cosmic FX collection, and since I'm not into greens I went with this one.  I would've LOVED to have found Haley's Comet, though.
Meh--if I was into the darker colors I'd love this, but I think I'm going to try swapping both of the bottles I have of OOTW.  If anyone wants to trade for Haley's Comet I'd be super ecstatic..!  Seriously though, I'll update what I have to swap, and my wishlist, so you guys should check it out and swap with me if you want--just email me at EStyles.ww@gmail.com :)  I realized today I love getting nail mail!

SO how do you like ORLY's Cosmic FX Collection?  Do you like Out of this World!!

<3 Whitney

PS I should be able to update more now that I'm pretty much done with school and am not currently working...pray I find a job!

Wet n Wild Eye Shadow Trios Review! Picture Heavy!

Okay SO let me show you the past two hauls I've gotten since my Giveaway Haul.  Let's not discuss the money aspect of it...

Five Below Haul #1
Okay one of the girls from the Polish-Aholics Anonymous Facebook group requested some of the Funky Fingers polishes, so I went out and got those for her and picked up this stuff while I was out!  Two Art Club polishes in white and red to attempt art with, Funky Fingers Baby Baby Baby (teal holo glitter), Funky Fingers Sand & Stilettos (Silver holo glitter), Funky Fingers Golden Coast (gold holo glitter), and Funky Fingers Down to Earth (Gold Metal).  All those along with three of the Wet n Wild eye shadow trios Don't Steal My Thunder, I Got Good Jeans, and Spoiled Brat.

Five Below and Ulta Haul #2
On Saturday I went back to Five Below and picked up three more of the Funky Fingers Holo Glitters (Baby Baby Baby, Sand & Stilettos, and Golden Coast), for swaps (Seriously guys, check my swap list if you want to trade for any/all of these).  And I also finally picked up ORLY Out of This World and OPI DS Reserve!  AH.  They're both so awesome.  DS Reserve will be my Pink Wednesday post this week.  It's gorgeous.

I guess I should also mention I chipped off my blue ruffian before Memorial Day so I didn't add anything to it, but it's all gravy.  What I'm here to talk about today is eye shadows!  I've tried two of the Wet n Wild trios so far: Walking on Eggshells (from Giveaway haul) and I Got Good Jeans!  There are a shit ton of pictures of these, just a warning :)

Walking On Eggshells

Beige and Brown Trio (This is the product picture from google)
Here's mine...already been used :)

Swatched on my hand...this is also outdoor sunny lighting!

Before the application pics I just want to say that I really loved this trio when I saw it in the store.  Initially I heard about these at Nouveau Cheap, although the one that I really wanted that she swatched was Go for the Gold, so I'm still on the lookout for that one!  But this one is still very pretty, too.  It's pretty subtle and natural so this is what I've been wearing for my everyday look since I got it.

Now I'm not super great at putting on eye shadow.  I have tried every type of brush but I still have a hard time blending!  Do you guys have any brush recommendations?  Honestly, for both sets of trios I've just been using the brushes it came with because I don't see a point in anything else since they all work about the same for me.  I'm willing to try anything new, though!  These colors all work really well and blend together nicely, though, which is why after buying this one, I went out and bought three more :)  And they're only $2.99!!

Anyway, in the pics above I have it pictures with Lorac liquid eyeliner and a combination of mascaras...I think probably Buxom Mascara and Maybelline Define a Lash Waterproof in Black.  They were taken inside, but next to the window so it's like half outdoor lighting.  I really like this for everyday wear!

I Got Good Jeans
Also, I went OUT the other night and decided to try I Got Good Jeans since the colors matched the shirt I was wearing, hah!  I liked how it turned out a lot, but its not something I think I would wear during the day time.  Also, sorry all of these pictures are inside with bathroom lighting or the flash since it was dark when I got ready :)

Wooo look at that dark blue.

Swatched on my arm...outside!

I can't keep my eyes open during a flash lol

Bathroom lighting

Different angle
Anywho--like I said, I like this and didn't have a hard time blending the dark blue in, which was good 'cause I wasn't tryin to look like a skank or anything.  The light blue brow bone shadow was a little TOO blue and I tried to wipe most of it off.  It's a lighter shade but it still gave off a barbie look I wasn't going for.  This color was also paired with the Lorac liner and same mascaras as the other one.

Overall I totally think these trios are worth the $3 you pay for them!  You can get Wet n Wild at pretty much any drug store and I found a ton of them at Five Below!  I'm hesitant to try the last two I bought 'cause they're not really "me" so it'll probably be a while before I test those out :)  I like that they come with a duster brush and a sponge applicator!  Like I said, those are the brushes I've been using 'cause I'm lazy and am not very good at makeup either way!

Let me know if you've tried either of these or are planning on it!  Hope you all had a super great weekend ;)

P.S. I also just noticed, but let's ignore the state of my eyebrows at this time! k thanks :)

Double Pink Wednesday!! Ulta Polishes + Haul :)

Okay. So. I have a lot to say in this update.

I've reached 100 followers!!!! Woo hooo!!  I'm at 103--this is great!  I never ever thought in a million years that anyone would care or even read what I wrote here, so I'm SO beyond thrilled.  This makes me feel really good, guys, I appreciate each and every one of you and I love reading all your comments!

Now, I can finally tell you about my epic haul from last weekend!! Take a look:

Dum dum dum duuuummm!

So my BF Jenn sold me a bunch of Bath and Body Works stuff she had for super cheap!  I got two cute clip on air fresheners for my car, three lotions, a candle, two lip glosses, and some soap!  Then we hit up Ulta and I used two $5 off coupons, a 20% off coupon, the free ORLY coupon again and got all the polishes (Buy 2 get 2 free), and burt's bees stuff for $20!  Then I wanted to try the new Wet n Wild eye shadows so I stopped by CVS and got some of those.

I stocked up on my pinks for Pink Wednesdays by getting the ORLY Oh Cabana Boy, and Ulta Fuschiamania, Princess, and Heirhead (seen L to R on the bottom left).  The rest of the stuff I'll tell you in the next post right after this 'cause all the stuff in the right is part of my GIVEAWAY!!! YAY!!!

BUT for now, onto Pink Wednesday :)

I decided to try out Ulta's Heirhead, the light pink one in the picture!  I really liked it.  This was my first time using a non-glitter Ulta polish and I was impressed.  For how cheap you can get them (Buy 2 get 2 free is an AWESOME deal...that's 4 for $10...and if you use a $5 off coupon, it's 4 for $5!!), the formula is quite good.  Anyway, check it out:

Shade

Sun
I really liked this!  It didn't compliment my skin tone too well but the color is nice anyway.  It'll be good later in the summer I think.  This is three coats!  I like how smooth and opaque the polish is, I probably could've done just two!

Jenn came over today, too, and painted her nails with me!  She thought we could do a double Pink Wednesday and take some pics of hers too.  What she did was she combined the dark pink Ulta polish, Fuschiamania, with Zoya's Rica (Sunshine Collection)!  Looksie:

Fuschiamania by itself...it is a little more pink rather than red in person

I like how it turned out.  Zoyas are pretty opaque for glitters and normally overtake a base color but this combo looks really good in person.  Rica looks really orange-y normally by itself, so with a dark pink base it really brings out the pink in it.  She's so creative :)  And I liked having someone to paint my nails with today, it's usually just me!

Oh, and those pics of Jenn's nails are 2 coats Fuschiamania (it went on really opaque, if you were running out the door, you could go with 1 coat and be okay), and 1 coat of Rica!

Like I said before--super impressed with the Ulta formula.  I didn't think the "generic" polishes were going to be that good, but the cheap ones have been impressing me for a while!  I still love Sinful Colors, and when they're on sale for 99 cents, I take advantage of it!

Anywho, stay tuned for another post regarding my 100 follower giveaway!!

<3 Whitney

PS Jenn gave me a real cute idea for a nail polish "series"...I'll have to work it on in my head a bit, but I'm hoping to try something weekly like Pink Wednesday but allll me!
